Dr. Nickson nominated for Fulbright

Nickson approved for Fulbright Scholarship Roster Candidacy
Stacey Nickson, assistant director of the Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, has been selected by the J. William Fulbright Scholarship Board as a candidate for the organization’s specialist roster. The program is a short-term complement to the core Fulbright Scholar Program, sending U.S. faculty to serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, institutional planning and related subjects to overseas academic institutions for two to six weeks. Nickson’s expertise in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning includes global outreach initiatives, cross-cultural communication and the preparation of future faculty. Her 2012 publications include “Developing Faculty for the 21st Century in South Africa;” “Culture Bump: An Instructional Process for Cultural Insight;” and “The Role of Culture Bump in Developing Intercultural Communication Competency and Internationalizing Psychology.”
