On Friday, March 2, a group of MBA students from Auburn’s College of Business continue Auburn’s decades-long South Africa Initiative. They will spend ten days in Johannesburg and Cape Town where they will participate in cultural events and business meetings.
This group is the first group to have received training in the theory underpinning the Culture Bump Approach to understanding cultural differences. Their training has been developed and delivered by Dr. Stacey Nickson, Director of the Program for Cultural Insight from Auburn’s Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning.
Dr. Nickson, who will accompany the group noted,
“Understanding the theory is interesting and necessary, but when we hit the ground in
South Africa, it is the practical application from the Workbook that will save us.”
The group will keep a daily “culture bump diary” which they will be sharing with the Culture Bump Community. So stay tuned to www.culturebump.com for their updates from this exciting trip.
